IN THE BEGINNING

EARLY HISTORY

Black Zeppelin Studios was founded in 2013 as the digital heritage to a publisher of classic card- and boardgames. The frustrations that came with printing gigantic files and oversea logistics where a thing of the past. From now on John and Arrie would package their gameplay concepts into digital formats, which are easier to update and make different iterations of. They threw all their cardboard out of their office and made room for more workspaces for freelance programmers and artists. A rock’n roll journey in videogame land had begun.

OUT WITH THE OLD

AND IN WITH THE FRESH NEW

After a few testcases of converting original (own IP) card- and boardgames to iOS and PC/MAC platforms (Fun Farm, Hubbly Bubbly Academy) Black Zeppelin Studio started to work on its first big production: Shattered Worlds, a digital scifi card- and wargame. Loaning from years of experience in the collectible cardgame industry, John and Arrie created a game in which the story from their college years home brew dungeons and dragons setting formed the foundation.

Next to the development of Shattered Worlds , Black Zeppelin Studio works on multiple concepts. With help in the form of local gamedesign student projects, they develop proof of concepts from their own IP. Examples are Arcane Crystal (a falling blocks game with real integrated RPG elements) and Dungeon Driver (race game meets collectible card strategy).
